Valve is an American game development and digital distribution company. Valve was formed by Gabe Newell and Mike Harrington but Mike left, leaving Gabe as the only founder remaining. It has released many famous games like, the Half-Life series, the Counter-Strike series and DOTA 2. It also owns the famous digital distribution store, Steam.

Opinion

Valve is a legend when it comes to computer games. The incomplete series Half-Life made them soar when it revolutionised gaming forever. They have 2 famous e-sports games which are Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and DOTA 2. They made the must play puzzle series Portal as well. Valve is a company that really reaches out to the gaming community. Steam is a digital game distribution store under Valve. They gave the community freedom to put games into their list of available games for purchase by a method called "Greenlight". They also created a community market which allows people to sell stuff to each other online. An instant messaging and voice chatting system together with a friends list is built into Steam as well, allowing players to keep in touch with each other and coordinate in multiplayer games better. Even their games can be affected by the community with the community workshop. In the workshop, people submit skins or cosmetics for games and it can be inserted into the game if enough votes were acquired.

Overall, Valve is a very community friendly company. Thanks to that they have a large amount of people who would back them up, from players to other smaller companies. They provide service that is better than other game companies out there. Good on you Valve. Now where is Half-Life 3.
