Clement "Puppey" Ivanov

Biography

Born in Estonia, Clement Ivanov or Puppey, is one of the most prolific and storied captains in DOTA. He likes to experiment in his games and is not afraid to do so in actual matches, frequently picking surprise picks. He is a very responsible captain and is a model for professionalism in DOTA, being the father figure in Na'Vi and coordinating with his teammates efficiently despite not being the captain. Although he was born in a country where English isn't the native language, Puppey is able to speak English fluently and because of that, he was able to take part in many European competitions. He is an open and sociable man, unlike most of the nerds that play this hellish game.

DOTA 1 Career

Just like any fresh player, Puppey started with public matches. His career as a professional player started in 2007 with a team called Xero Skill (XsK). Their first achievement was the ESL Major Series where they managed a 3rd place. However, XsK disbanded after an official announcement from them.

After being teamless for awhile, Puppey was invited to a new team called KingSurf.International (Ks.int). Their first tournament was the ASUS Summer Open 2008. A 2nd place finish wasn't too bad for the newly formed team. Some players left the team or went inactive and Ks.int was merged with Warriors Gaming (WG). They tested their new team and managed to grab 1st place in the East Europe Dota Championship. A scandal however broke out within KingSurf and they departed from Ks.int. The team had a new name following their new sponsor, Razer.CGC.

The name changed to AEON.int in 2009 and the team started to crumble. Puppey and some other players created a new team called Ben's Fuck Buddies but eventually changed it to Ben's Friendly Buddies for reasons unknown. After a victory in the Farm4Fame tournament, they attracted an organization called "Blight" and their team was renamed to Nirvana.int. The time difference between the Americans in the team and the Europeans in the team caused performance problems. Nirvana.ru was created for the europeans but it faced major roster problems and it soon left Nirvana's control and took a temporary name, TeamHome. Puppey returned to Nirvana.int after the retirement of one of their players. The team once again left Nirvana due to the team not being given their salary and compensation from a recent event. The new team called themselves New World Order. NWO received sponsorship from GosuGamers.net (GG.net). Puppey left GG.net because of lack of LAN participation and joined with Natus Vincere (Na'Vi). Na'Vi participated in the ICS#8 playoffs where they grabbed 1st place.

DOTA 2 Career

Puppey's DOTA 2 career started along with Na'Vi and their first competition was The International 2011. They were undefeated throughout the entire tournament and won the $1 Million grand prize.
